Carola Schneider Accused Of Unprofessional Reporting

Moscow Pulls Plug on Austrian Broadcaster's Correspondent

Carola Schneider Accused of "Unprofessional" Reporting

Russia has ordered Carola Schneider, the chief Moscow correspondent for Austrian broadcaster ORF, to leave the country. The move comes amid heightened tensions between Russia and the West over the war in Ukraine.

According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, Schneider is being accused of "unprofessional" reporting.

Schneider has been based in Moscow since 2011 and has reported extensively on the conflict in Ukraine. This is not the first time that she has been targeted by Russian authorities.

In 2014, she was detained by Russian police while covering a protest in Moscow. She was later released without charge.

The ORF has condemned Russia's decision to expel Schneider and has called on the Russian government to reconsider its decision.

The expulsion of Schneider is the latest in a series of similar moves by Russia. In recent months, Moscow has expelled correspondents from other Western media outlets, including the BBC and the New York Times.

The moves have raised concerns about the freedom of the press in Russia.
